At its 162nd meeting of the board of directors of Eurimages, the Council of Europe’s fund for film co-productions, the board of directors supported a total of 24 film projects, including 3 documentaries and 3 animations. The Christmas movie Kapa was also a success at the session, which again took place remotely between March 11 and 26.
The Slovenian feature film Kapa directed by Slobodan Maksimović was supported by the fund in the amount of 205,000 euros. The main producer of the film is Ida Weiss from the production company Senca Studio, and the co-producers are “Wady Films” from Luxembourg, “Objectif” from Slovakia and Studio Dim from Croatia. The film has so far been financially supported by the Film Fund in Luxembourg, the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, the Croatian Audiovisual Center, the Croatian public television HRT, RTV Slovenia and the Slovak public television RTVS. During the development phase, the film was also supported by the European Fund Creative Europe (Media sub-program), the regional fund Re-Act and the Ministry of Public Administration of the Republic of Slovenia.
The script for the film was written by Saša Eržen, the director of photography is Sven Pepeonik. The script for the film was created as part of the scriptwriting workshop Scenarnica and the largest European platform for children’s films CINEKID ScriptLab.
The Kapa film project is a family Christmas adventure in which all wishes come true, but not quite as the protagonists of the film expect. The main roles are played by Gaj Črnič, Kaja Podreberšek, Ajda Smrekar, Mojca Fatur, Frano Mašković and René Štúr. Klemen Slakonja, Zala Đurić Ribičič, Jernej Kuntner, Robert Waltl, Jaka Fon, Lotos Vincenc Šparovec, Nina Valič, Primož Pirnat, Klemen Klemen and many others also appear in other roles.
